Dang skippy - this is my 5th post, I think - this is the most I've ever blogged.  Somebody get on the phone with the people over at Guinness and let them know.  :)

I think that I am finally getting over the Seahawks being robbed in the Super bowl.  I was driving to work the other day and saw  a bill board that read: "Seahawks call the cops - cuz you got robbed".  Well, it was great to see all the Seahawks playing in the pro-bowl this weekend - too bad Hasselbeck didn't have that great of a game, but it was a blast to watch all the guys out there having fun.

So, the ipod has been really cool, but it gave me a scare over the weekend.  I was having problems synching the music in iTunes with the pod and thought that I would run the software update to see if that would solve the problem.  After the new software mounted to the pod, it looked like the program was done running.  I hesitated to unplug the ipod since the only power it was receiving was from the USB on my laptop.  Having some experience in computer desktops, laptops and PDA's, I know good and well that when you are updating firmware (BIOS updates) and you lose power that the mother board is pretty much toast.  So, after waiting like 20 minutes, I finally unplugged the ipod and it showed a picture to say "plug me in to the AC adapter".  Well, that's great if you have an AC adapter, but I didn't.  After attempting multiple soft-reboots, the ipod was not responding.  Fearing that I completely toasted the ipod, I called the local Apple store and the guy told me that the ipod just needs to be plugged into an AC adapter and it should be fine.  Went to a friend's house, plugged it in and that did the trick.  Whew!  Huge sigh of relief!

I'm telling you though, if you love music, are on the go and don't feeling like packing around a bunch of CD's, than an ipod would make your life easier.  I normally boy-cott Apple, but made an exception on the ipod because none of the other mp3 players seemed to hold up as well and I didn't like the interface on them.

Peace!

Here's a great read on, shall I call it, the "Mediocre Bowl" that took place on Sunday:

Couldn't agree more with this writer - I'm still bitter.  I do hear that Seattle is already being picked to be in the top 5 teams to return to a Super-Bowl next season.  I'll keep my head-high and my fingers crossed.

Peace~

Crap - the Seahawks just lost the Superbowl...  What a freakin' bummer...  while I don't want to believe that referees can be bought to "throw" a game, I have a sneaking suspicion that this is what has happened.  How else can one explain the absolutely rotten calls that were made: 9 times out of 10 against the Seahawks.

There's no way that the Steelers are a better football team.  Look at the overall stats of the game; look at the turnovers; look at the penalties during crucial moments in the game.  I hate referees.  I agree with the Budweiser commercial: "That referee is a jack-ass".

Either way, the Seahawks had a tremendous year, despite what idiotic Steeler's fans would call "a light schedule" - what a load of crap.  I will say this for the Steelers, they had the 2nd worst called game in NFL history against the Colts, but they squeaked out a win thanks to Vanderjagt (who at the time held the best kicking record in the NFL).  Vanderjagt probably still holds the best record, but nobody remembers that - they just remember that he missed a game-tying field goal during the 2nd most important game of the NFL post-season.

I have a feeling that people all across the nation will feel the same way about the Seahawks.  They won't remember that they went 13-3 in the regular season; they won't remember that the Seahawks' fans helped them lead the NFL in most false-start penalties at home.  All they will remember are the Seahawks are the team that lost to the Steelers.  Say what you want, but if the game had been called fair, the score would have been 17-14, with a Seattle win.

The worst part is all the crap I have to take from Steelers' fans now - uggghhhh.  Here's the true test of a champion though: next year I guarantee you won't see the Steelers in the Superbowl, but I have a good feeling that you will see the Seahawks there.

On a lighter note, I think that I am finally going to buy an ipod!  I'm so jazzed about getting one - it'll be nice not to have to screw around with CD's anymore.

Peace out - all y'all Hawks fans - keep your chins up - we have better years ahead of us and I know we have a Superbowl championship team in the not-too-distant future.

My wife is AMAZED that I am actually writing again - whatever....

I cannot wait to see the Superbowl this Sunday - I hope that we smack the crap out of the Steelers.  Oh, and by the way, Texas and their 12th man claim, here's what I think of that:  so sue us - bring it on.  I guarantee you that the Seahawks have much better lawyers than the Aggies do.  Besides, Paul Allen could by the entire Texas A&M campus if he wanted to.  Ha-ha!

I'm also stoked to see the new Grey's Anatomy on Sunday - Code Black - what can it be.  I can tell you what a Code "Brown" is from my days as an EMT/Fire-fighter, but it's pretty gross.    Okay, so I know that a guy watching and liking "Grey's Anatomy" is about the equivalent of "You know how I know that you're gay?  Because you watch "Grey's Anatomy" and you actually like it."

Those of you wondering why I quote so many movies need to understand that I am somewhat of a movie buff (not self-proclaimed, mind you).  Chances are that if I've seen it, I can probably match you quote-for-quote on it.  Hence my xanga call-sign: MMMQ74 - standing for:

badda-boom, badda-bing - that's me in a nut-shell.

Now, going to check and see what the Woot! is for the day: check out www.woot.com for sweet one-day deals that are propped to their site at 12 midnight (Central Time, so 10 PM PST).  Most times they have some great deals - yesterday was crap.

After checking the Woot! I shall play some Battlefield 2 for the PC - totally sweet game if you like first-person war-style games, like Halo, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, etc.

Peace!

Monday, January 30, 2006

Okay - so  I started a new blog-site.  Hopefully I will write in this one more often than my other one....  Probably not, but here's to hoping!

Today was a pretty good Monday for me, but some of my co-workers were having a "case of the Mondays".  For those of you that have seen Office Space you know what I'm talking about, but seeing that I'm in construction (go with me fellow "Office Space" fans) if I said something like that to him, in the words of Lawrence, "I believe that person would get their a$$ kicked."  So, I tried to be encouraging, but lets face it, I'm a dude, so the extent of my encouragement was an offer to buy him a beer after work.  Hey, that's what I would want - that would give me something to look forward to.

Oh well, typical Monday.  I played some poker, Texas-Hold-em style on Friday night and won $20!  Pretty amazing for me - usually I lose early and am over playing the X-box and nursing a whiskey-sour (my new favorite drink) within 10 minutes of the first hand being dealt.  Maybe it's the new year and I'm a year older and hopefully smarter.  That can't be the case since I'm still throwing my money into the ole' poker pot.  Maybe it's just a stroke of luck.

As I'm writing this, I'm playing an intense game of "peek-a-boo" with my daughter, Nina.  I'm using the laptop screen for cover and she is loving it.  I love my kids - wouldn't trade them for the world.  I would like a vacation though - just a chance for my wife and I to get away.  I know we would both miss the kids terribly, but we need a break too.  That time will come for us.  Kids are most definitely worth the work and effort.

Alright, time to eat some dinner, so gotta run.  Peace~
